    Hi and welcome! I'm jenny (obvi) and i'm so happy you're here. i am a portrait and wedding photographer in columbus, ohio. my absolute favorite thing to photograph is love. couples in love, new mommies and daddies in love with their newest bundle of joy, brides and grooms in love about to walk down the aisle. anything involving love. who doesnt love love, right?

    here on the blog you'll find some of my favorite images from recent sessions and weddings of my clients, family and friends. you'll also probably find some personal posts from our large family get togethers or cute pictures of my dogs. because i love my dogs. a lot.

As revealed a couple posts ago, my very good friends Faye and Andy recently added another beautiful baby girl to their family. And i had the distinct privilege (and pleasure) of photographing this beautiful newborn and capturing one of her first days here in this world. She’s sweet as candy and i’m amazed i actually got some photos of her since all i really wanted to do was snuggle and cuddle her. I already love this peanut like she was one of my own nieces, just as much as i love the evester. This family holds a special place in my heart, here’s a sneak peek into their lives.

whats better than a smiley sleepy baby?? love this.. she’s so sweet.oh those eyes!in true 3 year old fashion, Eves wasnt always the most cooperative… but in this instance, it worked out in my favor. she crawled up to the front of the bed and sweetly smiled at me.. i’ll take that.i wouldnt normally include an image like this in a blog post but i cant stop laughing at how bored evie looks.. like, ok, are we done yet… HAand these next two images are among my most favorite images ever taken.. is Faye not the most beautiful new mama?! this image, i die. so in love.and cant have a newborn shoot without showing those perfect tiny little piggies.. itty bitty baby parts make me melt.

Meg’s Baby Shower at The Explorer’s Club

Last weekend, I had thehonor of going to my good friend, Megan’s, baby shower. This was at The Explorer’s Club here in Columbus, which I’ve never been to but is just the cutest little restaurant! Megan’s very best friend, Emily, put so many cute details into this party. Faygo pop in glass bottles?! Yes, please. The delish cuppy cakes and cookies were from Meg’s favorite bakery, Blue Frost Cupcake..and i will definitely be ordering stuff from there in the future. Total yum town. This was probably one of the more fun showers i’ve been too.. we only played one game and that was to make a baby out of play doh! who doesnt want to play with play doh?! my baby was horrible.. but some gals really went all out on their babies.. Meg got to pick the winners, of course (i clearly wasnt a winner but really wanted one of those bottles of wine!).. Without further ado, here are some snippets from Meggie’s fabulous baby shower.

Meg always looks so super cute, so its only fitting that BBD (baby boy Danser) will always be stylish as well…

Her mama made this amaze mobile.. it has the whole family represented.. meg with her camera, drew with his guitar..even their pets.. i was in awe over this thing.. way adorbs.

she was pretty excited about some of her gifts… haha

are Meg and her mom not total twinsies?! totes. twins. 

Megan, you’re beautiful.. i cannot WAIT to capture that preggo glow in your maternity pics and cant wait for BBD to arrive! he’s going to be just as fabu as you.. love you! xxxx

Old Friends and New Babies

Almost 9 years ago, I met a few people who would become a hugely important part of my life.. One of those was Faye..Faye has become one of my absolute closest friends and her husband is like a brother to me. They are truly an addition to my family that today i wouldnt know what I’d do without. Faye and Andy (and big sister, the Evester) welcomed Josephine Rose to the world last week on February 1st. I cried as soon as i saw Faye that day… and again when i saw just how beautiful josie rosie is. Congratulations again you guys.. you know how much i love you.

2012: A Look Back, My year in pictures

2012 was such an awesomely amazing year… Its going to be really hard for 2013 to top it. Here are some of the highlights of my year:

My first nephew was born, Michael Joseph the third. And my husband is his Godfather. =)

Rae-Rae turned 3!

Morgan turned 5!

My sister threw me an amazing lingerie shower..

My mom threw us an amazing bridal shower…

WE GOT MARRIED!!!! (wedding photos by bobbi+mike)

we had our first photo session as a married couple…
with our pups too (Swayze and Molly)…Lo-Lo turned 2!I threw my sister Mandy a lingerie shower, with help from my girl Faye faye.Mandy chopped all of my hair off… and it felt amazing!

we all headed to beautiful Key West, FL for Lindsay and Chris’ wedding!From Florida, JJ and i headed to Mexico for our amazing honeymoon!!my mom threw mandy and nick a beautiful shower in Michigan.we had an amazingly fun Christmas eve at Mom’s house…and 3 days after Christmas, my little sister got married!!the original 5:love you sissy!how gorgeous is this?! (all mandy’s wedding photos taken by Photography by Faye Sommer)and we ended the year celebrating Christmas with my new other family, The Zinks. 

 

On top of all that, in 2012 i found out 3 of my close girlfriends are expecting, one in february, one in march, and one in april.. cant wait to meet these new bundles and get my snuggle fix!!

I was so overwhelmed with happiness and joy for this couple all day. These two really made it into my heart. They make such a perfect couple and I was so excited to be a part of their day.. So without further ado:

I yanked one of these cupcakes for our drive  home and OH MY GOODNESS was it delish!

Chuck is such a handy man.. he made so many of the little details that were seen throughout the day.. including the box for their sand ceremony… way to go Chuck!

If you know me at all, you know father/daughter dances are hard for me to watch… but just look how sweet this is, you can just tell they have a special bond.

Amanda and Chuck, thank you so much for having us be a part of your special day. It really was such a joy to watch the two of you join together!! xxx
